Sheffield United are set to confirm the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Lee Evans in the next 24 hours, Football Insider sources understand.
The Blades agreed a fee of £750,000 with Wolves earlier this week and the player has now agreed personal terms and passed a medical at Bramall Lane.
A well placed source has told Football Insider that Evans is set to sign a three-and-a-half year deal with Sheffield United and will become their second midfield signing of the week following the arrival of Ryan Leonard from Southend.
Wales international Evans is expected to go straight into Chris Wilder’s squad for this Friday’s Steel City derby with Sheffield Wednesday at Bramall Lane.
The 23-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Wigan after finding himself out of favour at Wolves and he caught the attention of Sheffield United with a number of impressive showings for Wigan.
Evans joined Wolves in January 2013 from Newport County and he made 67 appearances, scoring three goals during his five years at the club.
In other Wolves transfer news, the club are in a battle with Leeds to sign a left-sided flyer and a four-and-a-half year contract is already agreed.
