Nottingham Forest midfield goal machine Jorge Grant is a target for Championship duo Brentford and Bolton as well as Wigan Athletic after impressing on loan at Notts County, Football Insider sources understand.
Grant has caught the eye on loan at Notts County this season and a number of scouts watched him score his 10th goal of the season from midfield in Friday’s FA Cup clash with Bristol Rovers.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Brentford, Bolton and League One promotion hopefuls Wigan are all monitoring Grant’s situation and are ready to make a move for the attacking midfielder when the transfer window reopens in January.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Notts County during the second half of last season, scoring six goals in 17 games for the Magpies as he helped them clear of relegation trouble in League Two.
Grant’s future at Forest was in doubt this summer with his previous deal due to expire at the end of June, but the club tied down Grant to a new three-year deal to fend off clubs looking to land him on a free transfer.
Notts County beat a host of clubs to Grant’s signing on loan in the summer after Forest decided to send him out on loan and the midfielder has again impressed after getting a regular run of first-team football with double figures in goals and five assists to his name already this term.
