Exclusive: Newcastle tipped to launch overhaul by signing three Bournemouth stars
Darren Bent believes Newcastle United could raid Premier League rivals Bournemouth for three of their top stars during the summer transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Sunderland and England hitman believes the likes of Ryan Fraser, Nathan Ake and Callum Wilson would be “perfect” for the Magpies.
Newcastle are still waiting for the Premier League to green light a prospective takeover by PCP Capital Partners, with the Daily Mail stating that confirmation, while likely to go through, could be delayed until next week.
With 18th placed Bournemouth facing the threat of relegation this season, Bent believes the Magpies could poach the Cherries’ top stars for themselves.
Bent told Football Insider: “There’s a few that I think would be brilliant to get them kickstarted at Newcastle and Ryan Fraser, on a free, perfect. You start looking around and there are so many players.

“If the season finishes and Newcastle, which they will do, stay up and you look at the clubs that will go down, Bournemouth for instance, Nathan Ake’s there, he doesn’t want to play in the Championship, Callum Wilson, you’ve got a centre-forward there. Ryan Fraser’s coming out of contract.
“Before you even start looking abroad there are potentially some good players over here that could be playing in the Championship next season. If you’ve got the pulling power of the takeover, the shopping list will be good but these will be players that know the Premier League.
“Callum Wilson’s scored a lot of goals, Ryan Fraser, we know how good he is, Nathan Ake, he’s been courted by loads of the top clubs. These are all signings that would be good for Newcastle and I believe they could get over the line.”
With nine games left to play, Bournemouth find themselves in the final relegation spot on goal difference alone with Watford and West Ham on the same number of points.
