Nottingham Forest are ready to open contract talks with Joe Lolley and offer him a deal to ward off the mounting interest in his services, Football Insider sources understands.

Lolley has been in superb form for Forest this season and has been one of the stars of the Championship with seven goals and seven assists in 24 games so far this term.

The 26-year-old's impressive displays have not gone unnoticed with Premier League duo Watford and Cardiff City and Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion all linked with a move for the skilful attacker.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Forest are aware of the growing interest in Lolley and they are keen to reward him for his fine form and secure his long-term future with fresh terms at the City Ground.

Lolley has established himself as a key member of Aitor Karanka's side and they are determined to keep their best players as they look to maintain for push for promotion to the Premier League this season.

Lolley joined Forest last January from Huddersfield Town and he is under contract at the midlands club until 2022.
