Paul Robinson showered Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold with praise following the 2-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O'Leary, the former England international shared he believes Alexander-Arnold and fellow Reds defender Andy Robertson are the best two full-backs in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has featured in every one of the Reds' Premier League games this season and racked up his ninth league assist of the campaign against United.

Robinson stated that he found Alexander-Arnold's rate of improvement scary before explaining that he thought the 21-year-old was good at both ends of the pitch.

When asked is it scary how good Alexander-Arnold could become, Robinson told Football Insider: "I think his rate of improvement is scary.

"His defensive qualities and offensive qualities make him an all-around full-back.

"And I've said this before, I think him and Robertson are the best two full-backs in the league.

"And when you put Van Dijk beside them, it's a formidable defence."

The Reds right-back has appeared a total of 31 times this season across all competitions, registering 11 assists and scoring two goals in the process.

Alexander-Arnold has already racked up 116 appearances for the Reds' senior side and he is contracted to stay with the Jurgen Klopp's side until 2024.

The England international is likely next in action with the Reds on Thursday when his side travel to face Wolves.
