Exclusive: Paul Robinson in awe of Tottenham ‘Untouchable’ on par with Harry Kane

Paul Robinson has insisted that Son Heung-Min now has “untouchable” status at Tottenham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Spurs goalkeeper revealed he is a massive admirer of a player who has cemented himself as virtually undroppable in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Son has scored twice in each of Tottenham’s last two Champions League matches and his midweek double took his season haul to seven goals from 14 matches, supplemented by four assists.

Robinson is in no doubt that the former Bayer Leverkusen star, 27, has now overtaken the likes of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli as among the first names on the team sheet along with Harry Kane.

“Son is not under the radar anymore,” Robinson told Football Insider. “I think his impact and his value to the squad has been shown.

“We miss him when he leaves and goes off to play for his country for big chunks of the season. His quality with both feet, his impact going forward, his enthusiasm, his energy – he’s a huge key part of the team.

“He’s become a player that Mauricio Pochettino can’t leave out now. He’s like Harry Kane, untouchable.”

Son is one of two Tottenham players, along with Hugo Lloris, on the 30-man shortlist for this year’s Ballon D’Or, which will be awarded on 2 December.

He scored 20-plus goals last season and in 2016-17 and since joining Spurs has netted 74 times in 202 matches as well as provided 40 assists.

In other Tottenham news, it can be REVEALED that the club have tabled a defender offer after Pochettino green lights new deal.
