Exclusive: Paul Robinson raves about Liverpool teen, suggests 20-21 PL transfer
Paul Robinson was blown away by the performance of Neco Williams despite Liverpool losing to Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The former England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, urged the 18-year-old to go out on loan next season with Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of him at Anfield.
Williams made only his fifth appearance at Stamford Bridge alongside three of Jurgen Klopp’s usual back four – Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk and Andy Robertson.
Not our best performance but we’ll bounce back for sure 👊🏻 thanks to travelling fans 🙌🏻 pic.twitter.com/8b36JDSpvP

The right-back showed why he already has three assists to his name for the Reds, sending several dangerous deliveries into the Chelsea box in the first half.
Robinson claimed the teenager has “a very bright future ahead” but suggested a loan move away from Merseyside may be the next step in his development.
“I like him,” the former Spurs keeper told Football Insider.

“He is only 18. Obviously, he has Trent in front of him so his game time will be limited.
“You can see what Klopp thinks of him by giving him an opportunity in a big game away at Stamford Bridge. You can see that Klopp has got faith in him by giving him an opportunity in that game.
“Whether next season he is going to have to look to go on loan to get a lot more games to develop as a player as Trent is there and he misses very few games. He has a very bright future ahead of him. He will not develop by sitting on the bench but he would command a Premier League loan, not into the Championship.”
Goals from Willian and Ross Barkley either side of half-time were enough for the hosts as the Premier League leaders slipped to their third loss in four games.
This Saturday sees Jurgen Klopp’s side return to Anfield as they welcome relegation battlers Bournemouth.
In other Liverpool news, Danny Mills has told Football Insider forward has “blown his opportunity” after recent events.
