Celtic face a battle to hang on to rising star Tsoanelo Letsosa amid growing interest from clubs across Europe, Football Insider can reveal.

The midfielder, 16, is turning heads with his development after his starring role for Scotland Under-16s in the recent Victory Shield competition.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider that over 60 scouts from leading clubs attended the event and they were struck by the potential of Letsosa.

The teenager was named man-of-the-match in the final as Scotland were crowned joint winners of the prestigious competition.

The source explained that elite clubs in the Premier League and across Europe have now set their signings on trying to prise Letsosa from Glasgow.

The midfielder, who is of South African descent, joined Celtic in the summer of 2017 and has developed impressively through the age-group ranks.

He is winning a growing list of admirers due to his technical qualities as well as impressive speed and athleticism that makes him a standout among those emerging from the Hoops youth team set-up.

Letsosa is an outstanding all-round sporting prospect, and broke a number of records in athletics for his age in Glasgow.

The Scottish champions may find themselves in a similar position with the wonderkid to that with Liam Morrison only a few months ago.

The highly rated centre-back, 16, was signed by Bayern Munich during the summer after rejecting the offer of a professional contract from Celtic.
