Paris Saint-Germain are plotting a summer swoop for Tottenham defender Danny Rose, Football Insider has learned.

The French giants are in the market for a new left-back and have been keeping tabs on Rose since he joined Newcastle United on loan in January.

A French source has told Football Insider that Rose is on the target list of PSG as well as one other left-back who plays in the Premier League.

The European superpower sent scouts to watch the England international in action for Newcastle in February and March.

Spurs would not stand in the way of a move for Rose, who will soon enter the the final 12 months of his contract.

The hierarchy see no way back for the outspoken left-back, 29, after he joined Newcastle amid rumours of a fall-out with Jose Mourinho.

The England international had insisted earlier this season that he would sit tight and see out his Spurs deal, which runs until the summer of 2021.

But he subsequently changed tack and joined Newcastle for the second half of the campaign after losing his starting spot under Mourinho.

Rose featured 16 times for Spurs during the first half of the season, the majority of those appearances coming during Mauricio Pochettino's time in charge.

He has made 214 appearances in total for the north Londoners since joining from Leeds United in his mid-teens.

The left-back role at PSG is shared between Spain international Juan Bernat, whose deal expires in 2021, and France international Layvin Kurzawa, who is out of contract in June.
