Tottenham boss

Danny Mills claims it will be “a big boost” for Tottenham to have Gareth Bale available for selection in the Premier League this weekend.

The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, said that Jose Mourinho would have a “magnificent option” at his disposal if the 31-year-old was named on the bench against West Ham.

Football Insider understands that Bale is in line to make his second debut for Spurs on Sunday when David Moyes’s side travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He is set for a place on the bench against the Hammers having recovered from a knee injury which has kept him sidelined so far this season.

Bale‘s last appearance for the Lilywhites came in May 2013, the winger scoring in a 1-0 victory over now League One side Sunderland at White Hart Lane.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the Wales international’s imminent return to Premier League action, Mills said:

“It will be a big boost to have in the dressing room, definitely.

“When you need a goal or a bit of inspiration from the bench there are not too many better than Gareth Bale.

“Mourinho likes to keep it tight and if by the 60th minute the scores are level he will bring Bale on. Suddenly the opposition will be worried.

“It is a magnificent option for Mourinho to have at his disposal.”
