Exclusive: Pundit reacts as Spurs star agrees 'Perfect Move' to new club for next season
Noel Whelan has applauded Troy Parrott for leaving Tottenham on loan and claimed that Millwall could be the “perfect” club for the teenager.
The former Leeds and Coventry forward, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, backed Lions boss Gary Rowett to get the best out of the 18-year-old next season.
The club confirmed on Saturday that the young striker would move to The Den for the 2020/21 season after Football Insider had exclusively revealed on Thursday that a deal had been agreed.
Parrott has enjoyed great success in the Lilywhites’ youth set up this year and scored 11 goals in just seven appearances.
However, he has made just four senior appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side and Whelan believes it is time for the centre-forward to test himself in the Championship.
“This could be the perfect move for him,” he told Football Insider.

“He definitely needed to go out on loan, that is for sure. You can only do so much in the 23s, then it is about testing yourself at a higher level. He is definitely going to get that in the Championship.
“Gary Rowett will be a good manager to work under. He is young, gets the best out of players and has changed the way that Millwall play.
“Parrott needs game time. He needs to test himself, he needs experience and he needs to mature. If he does well there might be a call back.
“He is banging them in for fun with the Under-23s so he needed that next challenge. The Championship will be very difficult and test his ability.”
