Exclusive: Radrizzani green lights mega Leeds new deal, may be done this week

Andrea Radrizzani has given the green light for Kalvin Phillips to be handed a massive pay rise that will be catapult him into Leeds United’s top earners, Football Insider can reveal.
As revealed by Football Insider, Leeds re-opened contract talks with the central midfielder last week as they look to tie him down to a new and improved deal.
A Leeds source has told Football Insider that chairman Radrizzani has sanctioned a lucrative deal for Phillips that will considerably increase his current £10,000-a-week agreement.
There is growing confidence among the Elland Road hierarchy there will be an announcement this week over Phillips’ future, with the international break providing a two-week break between matches for the Yorkshire giants.
Leeds have made it clear to Phillips how highly they rate him and want him to continue his association with the club he has supported his whole life and graduated from the youth ranks to be one of the star players.

Football Insider revealed earlier this summer that the 23-year-old is holding out for a package that will lift him into the same salary bracket as the club’s top two player earners, £40,000-a-week pair Kiko Casilla and Patrick Bamford.
Phillips, who was the subject of intense Premier League interest during the summer led by Aston Villa, has made it clear in talks he wants a four or five-year deal worth £10million.
Football Insider broke the news early last month that the midfield anchorman had knocked back Leeds’ opening offer following initial talks over a long-term contract extension.
The midfield anchorman has played the full 90 minutes in all eight of Leeds’ Championship and League Cup fixtures this season.
