Rangers are likely to accept a bid of around £12million for Alfredo Morelos this summer, Football Insider can reveal.
The possibility of the Colombia international, 24, quitting Ibrox in the upcoming transfer window has increased in recent days.
Sources have told Football Insider that the Ibrox board recognise they face an uphill battle to keep hold of Morelos and are expected to cash in on him for a far lower fee than they intended earlier this year.
Transfer fees in the next window are generally set to tumble by around 30 per cent as a result of the financial chaos caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
This means a re-evaluation for Rangers of their Morelos asking price.
That was nearly the £20m mark earlier this year but the pandemic means it has dropped significantly and a £12m bid may now be enough to force the Glasgow giants to do business.
Football Insider has been told that Everton are very keen on Morelos and are planning to make a move when the transfer window opens.
There is also interest in the prolific striker from other Premier League clubs as well as French, Italian and Spanish teams.
The striker has an outstanding scoring record at Rangers and was electrifying in the first half of last season before his form nosedived – along with that of his team – after the winter break.
Morelos, who has three years left on his contract, has scored 77 goals and supplied 29 assists from 137 matches for the club in three seasons.
In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that the club have agreed terms of new deal after West Ham offer rejected.
