Rangers have launched a move to sign QPR forward Bright Osayi-Samuel on a pre-contract, Football Insider can reveal.

The forward, 22, has entered the final nine months of his contract at the London club and his future is still shrouded in major doubt,

A £5million move to Brugge collapsed earlier this summer after QPR had accepted a bid, and the likes of Leicester City, Fulham and Brighton have also been keeping close tabs on him.

Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that the club are putting together a package to entice Osayi-Samuel ahead of the January window.

They have registered their interest in the versatile attacker and are hopeful of winning the multiple-club race to sign him.

Rangers are keen to tie Osayi-Samuel down to a pre-contract in January that would commit him to moving to Ibrox when his QPR contract expires next June.

QPR knocked back enquiries for the wide forward earlier in the year and triggered an option to extend his contract by 12 months in February.

The Championship club still want £5m for Osayi-Samuel going into the final month of the summer window.

He is a player in demand after a dazzling 2019-20 campaign in the English second tier.

Osayi-Samuel, who can play anywhere behind the striker including on both flanks, scored six goals and supplied nine assists from 40 matches in all competitions.

The former Blackpool man joined Rangers in the summer of 2017.
