Swansea City and Huddersfield are among six clubs trying to sign Aston VIlla forward Keinan Davis before the transfer cut-off, Football Insider can reveal.

The Championship duo have joined QPR in registering their interest in taking Davis, 21, on loan for the upcoming season before the window shuts next Thursday.

A Villa source has told Football Insider that the club are weighing up the loan offers and whether to allow the attacker to head out for the 2019-20 season.

Manager Dean Smith is a big admirer of Davis and is deciding whether to keep him in his first-team squad or loan him out to ensure he gets regular first-team football.

The England Under-20 international's chances are set to be limited at Villa Park following a massive overhaul in the wake of their promotion to the Premier League.

Smith has already splashed out £22million this summer on Brazilian Wesley Moraes, breaking the club's transfer record, which means Davis has slipped down the pecking order.

The club made goalkeeper Tom Heaton their 11th signing of the window earlier today and are also putting the finishing touches to the capture of midfielder Marvelous Nakamba, their third recruit from Belgian club Brugge.
