Stoke City, QPR and Millwall are in a nine-club chase to sign Liverpool striker Liam Millar, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Merseysiders have given the green light for the Canada international, 21, to go out on loan this season.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Stoke, QPR, Millwall and three other Championship clubs - Blackburn Rovers, Wycombe Wanderers and Rotherham United - have registered their interest in Millar.

There is also strong interest from cross-border trio Dundee United, Rayo Vallecano and FC Zwolle.

Millar had a spell on loan at Kilmarnock last season - his second at the Scottish club - and impressed in Liverpool's recent Under-23s win against Man Utd.

He can play at centre-forward or on the left side of the attack, the position he has been occupying for the Merseysiders' age-group side this season.

Millar has played the full 90 minutes of all three of his club's Under-23s games, including the 5-3 win over United last weekend.

He has been capped eight times by the Canada national side but has yet to make his senior Liverpool bow.

At Anfield, Millar has a posse of world-class attackers blocking his path to the first team.

He is also behind fringe stars in the attacking pecking order, including Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi, Harvey Elliott, Harry Wilson and Rhian Brewster.

Millar made 36 appearances for Kilmarnock across his two loan spells, scoring three goals and supplying two assists.
