EXCLUSIVE By Wayne Veysey

Tottenham have submitted a new offer to Lyon for midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, Football Insider can reveal.

The Londoners have structured a fresh bid worth £55million including add-ons for the central midfielder, 22, as they look to make him their club-record signing this summer.

A source with knowledge of Spurs’ recruitment has told Football Insider that the club have also offered Ndombele a package worth £200,000-a-week.

This includes signing-on fee and what are said to be achievable bonuses, as they look to place the France international in the same wages bracket as talisman and star man Harry Kane.

Spurs have held extensive discussions with the Ligue 1 club over a deal for Ndombele, who has emerged as one of the most in-demand players in the current window.

An agreement is not yet close, but the Londoners hope their latest offer will force Lyon’s hand as negotiations intensify.

However, the French club are well placed to secure a mammoth fee for their prize asset, as there is also interest in the central midfielder from Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham have not bought any players since January of last year, when they signed Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the north Londoners are actively working on a number of potential summer arrivals, with Football Insider revealing yesterday they have submitted a new and improved bid for Leeds United winger Jack Clarke.

In other Spurs news, it can be REVEALED that the club have pulled out of the race to sign a brilliant midfielder.
