Tottenham have been offered the chance to sensationally re-sign Christian Eriksen on loan, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
Inter Milan are keen to trim their wage bill and need to raise funds through player sales or offloading big earners on loan.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Eriksen has been made available on loan and offered to a number of top Premier League clubs including former club Spurs.
The Serie A giants are so keen to accelerate what would be a shock deadline-day move they are willing to pay half of Eriksen’s £200,000-a-week salary.
Eriksen is also believed to have been offered to other “top six” Premier League clubs.
It remains to be seen whether they would be willing to swoop for the Denmark international.
Tottenham have already re-signed one club legend this summer when they completed the loan signing of Gareth Bale.
Eriksen only left in January of this year, when Inter paid a fee of around £17m six months before his contract at the London giants was due to expire.
The playmaker has struggled to make an impact in Antonio Conte’s side.
His 28 appearances for the club have yielded four goals and three assists, and he has not been a regular starter.
He was an unused substitute for their 1-1 Serie A draw against Lazio yesterday after playing just nine minutes of their 5-2 league hammering of Benevento.
Of Inter’s three league fixtures this season, Eriksen has started just one and played 73 minutes in total.
