Exclusive: Tottenham to be 'Frontrunners' for 'Brilliant signing' - Bent claim
Darren Bent claims that Tottenham will be the “frontrunners” in the hunt to sign Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish this summer.
The former Spurs and Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Jason Jones, suggests that the Lilywhites are willing to focus on one or two prime signings and that they will have the funds to bring him in this summer.
Football Insider has learned that the 24-year-old is still among Tottenham’s transfer targets after their failed bid two summers ago and the Daily Star claim they have set £50million aside for his capture.
Bent believes £50million is the sort of figure that clubs can expect to pay for Grealish and that Spurs might be able to swoop swiftly for his capture.
Bent told Football Insider: “It’s definitely in the price tag that Villa are going to want for him but you look at Spurs – a young, English, brilliant signing.
“When you look at teams that are also in for Jack, there’s a lot of talk about Manchester United and I think where Spurs might have the edge is they’re going to have the funds to do it.

“They’re not really linked with anybody else and I think they can get that done, relatively, quite comfortably. I’m hearing Manchester United linked with Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane, Grealish. For them to get all those players they’re going to have to spend upwards of £300million.
“I can see Spurs being the frontrunners and just getting him.”
Grealish has been a mainstay for Villa this season, with nine goals and eight assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
With the Premier League suspended, Villa currently sit 18th in the table, two points off safety with a game in hand over their relegation rivals.
In other Tottenham news, a Football Insider pundit has been stunned after an £8million-plus deal was revealed.
