West Brom have opened talks to sign Hull City winger Kamil Grosicki for £800,000, Football Insider can reveal.

The Championship giants are working on a deal to land the Poland international, 31, as they look to reinforce their attack ahead of Friday's transfer deadline.

A West Brom source has told Football Insider that Slaven Bilic is a big admirer of Grosicki and has given the green light for a late-window swoop.

Negotiations over a permanent deal are underway and the Baggies are confident of winning the race for the attacker's signature.

He has also attracted strong interest from Scottish champions Celtic, but West Brom are amushing their move to try and force through a deal.

Bilic has made it clear to the club hierarchy he wants more attacking reinforcements after signing Callum Robinson on loan from Sheffield United earlier today, as first revealed by Football Insider.

Grosicki has been a regular under Grant McCann this season, scoring eight goals in all competitions, with his latest coming on Saturday in the FA Cup fourth round against Chelsea.

The winger is still one of the highest earners at Hull after signing Ligue 1 club Rennes in January 2017 during their Premier League days.

Despite Hull holding the option to extend his contract by another year, Grosicki’s deal has just six months left to run.

He has made 123 appearances for the Championship outfit, which have yielded 26 goals and 27 goals.
