Wycombe Wanderers and another unnamed League One club are in talks to sign Hull City midfielder Xavier Simons, sources have told Football Insider.

Discussions are centring around a potential loan deal ahead of the transfer deadline at 11pm on Monday (3 February).

The ex-Chelsea ace has not featured in any of Hull's last four Championship fixtures under manager Ruben Selles.

Simons has made 22 appearances across all competitions for the Tigers this season, scoring two goals.

The London-born midfielder has started in 13 of those outings and has played just 231 minutes of action since Selles' arrival at Hull in December.

He joined the Tigers from Chelsea in 2023 and went out on loan at Fleetwood for the 2023-24 campaign, making 15 appearances across all competitions as they were relegated from League One.

Former England Under-19 international Simons is under contract with Selles' side until June 2026.

He is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play in a more advanced midfield role and as a right-back.

Wycombe are chasing promotion to the Championship and are busy on deadline day, with Football Insider revealing (3 February) that Portsmouth goalkeeper Will Norris is undergoing a medical at Adams Park.
