Tottenham starlet Keanan Bennetts is poised to leave the club to join German side Borussia Monchengladbach, Football Insider sources understand.

Left winger Bennetts, 19, is highly regarded at Tottenham after progressing through the youth ranks at the north London club, but is now set to quit.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that talks are at an advanced stage between Monchengladbach and Bennetts over a move to Germany with the player well know to German sides having represented the country of his mother at Under-15 level before switching his allegiances to England.

Bundesliga clubs have been utilising the transfer market in recent transfer windows to lure away the best young talents from Premier League clubs and Bennetts is in line to become the latest young English player to move overseas.

Spurs exercised an option in the teenage attacker's contract last December but  it seems they are happy to let him move on.

Bennetts has yet to make a senior appearance for Tottenham but has been a regular for the Under-23s in Premier League 2 in the last two seasons.

Bennetts has scored nine goals and supplied eight assists in 32 games in all competitions for Spurs this season and he was earmarked as the next young talent to break into Mauricio Pochettino's first-team plans.

However, Monchengladbach have moved in to offer Bennetts a quicker pathway to first-team football and they are expected to finalise a deal for the player as soon as the transfer window opens later this week.
