Exit-linked Leeds figure handed major boost over future as transfer talks reportedly take place
While Leeds United fans may be wishing their season was over already, the future only holds more uncertainty despite the lack of footballing action.
While the pre-season break will act as a chance for players to recharge their batteries, clubs, including the Whites, will be lining up transfer moves for new recruits as well as making crucial decisions over their own stars in a bid to improve next season.
When it comes to Leeds, there is a lot of work that needs to be done.
However, before any transfer activity takes place, it appears as though the club will need to make a decision over the future of manager Paul Heckingbottom, whose position at Elland Road already looking under threat despite having only arrived in April.
Football Insider have exclusively revealed that the Whites are considering sacking the former Barnsley boss between now and the end of the season, after he failed to transform the club’s fortunes following Thomas Christiansen’s sacking, with just two wins since the turn of the year – both coming under Heckingbottom.

Even with Victor Orta in place as director of football, only the manager will know what he wants when it comes to adding to the squad, so it would seem a waste of time preparing transfer targets if there was no certainty over the current boss’ future.
Which is why Heckingbottom has been handed a massive boost to his future.
Reliable journalist Phil Hay has revealed in a column on the Yorkshire Evening Post’s website that the 40-year-old has been involved with transfer talks among other members of the recruitment team, hinting that despite his poor run of form, he is still the man to be trusted when looking forward.
If Heckingbottom was on the way out, such talks would not be taking place so it is looking alright for him for now – but that could all change if results and performances fail to improve in the final games.
In other Leeds United news, the club are set to be handed an imminent attacking boost after a long-term blow.
