Expert insight on Ethan Nwaneri after journalist's Liverpool update - 'I'm hearing'
Kevin Campbell is “not surprised” Liverpool and Man City are targeting a move for Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker revealed that he has “heard” the 15-year-old has been playing under-18 football since he was 14.
Nwaneri made his Premier League debut on Sunday (18 September) as a late substitute in a 3-0 win at Brentford.
The midfielder became the youngest player to ever play in the competition aged 15 years and 181 days old.
According to The Times‘ Gary Jacob (19 September), Liverpool and Man City are keeping tabs on the teenage sensation.
Nwaneri is yet to sign a scholarship at the Emirates.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Liverpool and Man City’s interest in the youngster, Campbell said: “You have to look to get the best young talent available into your football club.
“Once you get the talent in, you can transition it into how you want to play.
“I’m hearing that the young man has been playing under-18 football since he was 14.
“The fact that he has made his first-team debut at the age of 15 says a lot. It will only put the antennas up of clubs like Liverpool.
“When you unearth a top talent, all of the top teams go for it. that is only natural. I am not surprised that Liverpool and City are looking at him.”
