Expert: Jota's Celtic transfer 'will get done' after £6.4m update
Jota’s transfer from Benfica to Celtic “will get done”.
That’s according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s future.
As reported by the Daily Record (4 June), Celtic are locked in talks with Jota over personal terms as they look to sign him permanently from Benfica.
The Hoops have reportedly agreed a £6.4million transfer fee with the Portuguese giants after the attacker dazzled during the 2021-22 season.
The report claims the club are now negotiating wages and length of contract with the player.
McAvennie admits he will be “delighted” if Jota arrives at Celtic permanently.

“Jota looks as if he is signing,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Just from what has been said in the papers but it looks like that one will get done.
“He’s not on bad wages for a Scottish club, not bad at all. He played really well last year.
“Sometimes he would shy away and you can’t do that. But for the majority of the time, when he was on it, Celtic were on it.
“He was the catalyst for a lot of good performances last season and he will only get better if he has a full pre-season with Ange.
“I’ll be delighted if we get him over the line.”
Jota scored 13 goals and contributed 14 assists in 40 appearances for the Bhoys during the 2021/22 campaign.
He has made 27 senior appearances for Benfica but has failed to score.
