Expert: This is 'the biggest challenge' facing Man City and Erling Haaland next season

Kevin Campbell is adamant new Man City signing Erling Haaland will be a big hit in the Premier League.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Arsenal and Everton striker believes the “biggest challenge” for Pep Guardiola’s side will be keeping the 21-year-old fit.

On Monday (13 June), Man City announced the signing of Haaland from Borussia Dortmund on a five-year contract.

The Norway international will reportedly earn a whopping £375,000-a-week at the Etihad.

Haaland scored 29 goals in 30 appearances last season having missed 16 games because of injury.

When asked by Football Insider if Haaland would be an immediate success in Manchester, Campbell said: “Keeping him fit will be their biggest challenge.

“City take their time with players though. There was times when [Sergio] Aguero was on the bench. City can play with a false nine.

“Manchester City are going to be just as strong if not stronger than they were last season. Haaland will only add to them.

“Will he score goals? The team create that many chances it is harder for him to fail, that is the truth. They control games and open teams up at ease.

“It may take Haaland a bit of time to get used to the Premier League because it is a lot more physical but I have do doubts about him coming good. He will score goals. 100 per cent.”
