Expert: Tottenham have extra £15.4m to spend in January after development - 'I understand...'
Tottenham have an extra £15.4million to spend in January thanks to their Champions League performances.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Tottenham secured progression to the knockout stages of the Champions League with a 2-1 win over Marseille on Tuesday (1 November).
As per Alasdair Gold (2 November) Spurs earned an extra £8.2million for progressing.
The club also earned £2.4million for each of their three group stage wins.
Wenham insists this money will be added to the January spending pot.

“The game against Marseille was so important,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“The fact we have two league games before the World Cup in Liverpool and Leeds at home, to me, Marseille was the bigger game.
“Not only does it give us something to build upon and look forward to in the second half of this season, let’s call it a restart.
“It also gives us impetus in the January transfer window when we go to make new signings. We can offer Champions League football to whoever we want to sign.
“We will have an extra £8.2million, I understand that is the figure we earned for qualifying. So we have put ourselves in a really good position to grow as a club.“
Tottenham could face Barcelona, Juventus, Sevilla, Ajax, Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting Lisbon, Shaktar Donetsk or RB Salzburg in the next round of the Champions League.
The draw is on Monday (7 November).
