Fabio Silva caused controversy with his celebration aimed at the Rangers supporters after being embroiled in a dressing room bust-up before the 4-1 win against Kilmarnock at Ibrox.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Scotland striker Frank McAvennie revealed that he was not happy with the forward's actions, insisting he should not react to criticism in that way after a poor run of performances.

McAvennie went on to reveal that he has been told there had been a bust-up with Silva in the Ibrox dressing room, stating the pressure of the title race with Celtic must be getting to them.

McAvennie was not pleased with Silva's actions, questioning why he would tell his own fans to "shut up" with his celebration as "everybody gets stick", insisting that he would have to deal with it.

"I didn't like Silva as well. I didn't like him going to the Rangers fans and doing that," he told Football Insider.

"I'm thinking, why are you doing that? Because they're giving you stick? You've not been playing well, you're entitled to get stick.

"From what I have been told, there was an argument in the dressing room, it's hearsay so they probably won't say that, but the pressure is getting to them.

"Celtic have been through this before, but this is the first time in years they've been that close."
