Don't call fans stupid, 'Should be ashamed' – Leeds fans hit back at Radrizzani message to fans
Andrea Radrizzani has responded directly to the huge controversy engulfing his club after they announced a summer tour to Myanmar – and fans are not happy.
The controversy grew so big that Amnesty International put out a press release questioning their choice of destination.
However, it took a fan comparing him to Massimo Cellino that finally drew Radrizzani out into the open.
In a Twitter message to the Leeds fan he dismissed all criticism of the club and trotted out the line that sport has no politics and that he’s happy to spread the love in developing countries.
Such a stupid thought! It s actually the opposite, football bring joy and has no politics. I am happy to go in developing countries and support local football and engage with local community.

One of the first responses from Leeds fans was a meme featuring a man eating popcorn, and that was on the button as Leeds fans poured in to give their opinion on the subject.
It probably wasn’t the response that Radrizzani was expecting from today’s announcement but he’s certainly put Leeds on the map.

If football brings joy, why are we not sending the lads over to Syria or Iraq then?

That’s great an all but how bout you concentrate on our ‘developing’ football club first before embarking on altruistic missions abroad #lufc

Politics is deeply rooted in sport, learn from history. You are tarnishing the name of Leeds United to make money and are supporting genocide against the Rohingya. You should be ashamed.

Could of set up matches in any other developing country that is not associated with human rights violations. End of discussion. You are wrong.

@andrearadri how about make out club good again instead of developing football elsewhere? Your priority should be Leeds Utd not anything else and you’ve taken the first team backwards. The original post is right using our name to line your own pockets we are far from stupid

Andrea, please don’t call fans Stupid for having alternate views and opinions… we endured years of that under Ken Bates….. all we want is to be proud of our club and see it be successful not controversial – both on/off the pitch. MOT
