Fans on Twitter compare awful Jack Rodwell record with Gareth Bale at Spurs
By Emma Sanders
Jack Rodwell has not started a winning game for Sunderland in over three-and-a-half years, and fans on Twitter are comparing the record with Gareth Bale’s at Tottenham.
Sunderland’s poor form has continued under David Moyes and Rodwell hasn’t been on the winning side in his last 35 matches – two for Manchester City and 33 for Sunderland.
However, he’s not the only player to suffer such a horrific record, with Bale going 24 games without winning while at Tottenham.
Days since last Premier League win:

The former Spurs winger has gone on to become one of the highest paid footballers in the world after signing a new contract extension with Real Madrid this weekend said to be worth £600,000 a week.
Bale has won the Champions League twice since leaving White Hart Lane for £85 million in September 2013.

Playing as a left-back at the time, Bale endured a tough season with Tottenham when, after 24 games, his team finally defeated Burnley in September 2009.
The Real Madrid star joined Tottenham for £5million after graduating from the Southampton academy in May 2007.
Fans on Twitter have reminded everyone of the former Tottenham star’s poor record and have sympathy for Rodwell’s current situation.
Here is a selection of the messages on Twitter:
Bale had a similar record of always losing with Spurs in his early days and look how that turned out. Rodwell is just meh, though. https://t.co/X6tommuIed

how many Spurs games did Bale go before he won one. I predict a similar future for Rodwell.

If Sunderland can find good in the fact that Jack Rodwell has never played in a win for them, it's that Bale once held that record at Spurs
