Leeds fans have paid tribute to Souleymane Doukara following his remarkable turnaround in fortunes.

The forward appeared to be on his way out of Elland Road after being frozen out at the start of the season under Garry Monk.

But the 25-year-old, whose contract expires next summer, has turned around his Leeds career in recent weeks with a series of fine displays in a wide attacking role.

In the Championship alone, the Senegalese has scored two goals and supplied two assists, most notably a sensational cross for Kemar Roofe that broke the deadlock in last Saturday's 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Supporters have been highly critical of Doukara in the past but have been won over by the player, with one saying that he had been forced to eat his words.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Doukara joined Leeds from Italian club Catania in the summer of 2014 in the first wave of signings following the takeover of owner Massimo Cellino.

The forward has outlasted most of his fellow arrivals that year, although his deal is due to expire at the end of the season.

It appears that Doukara has a chance of earning an extension after find favour with Monk over the last six weeks.

Since moving to Elland Road, he has scored 14 goals and provided eight assists from 65 appearances in all competitions.

Doukara is in line to start for Leeds on Friday night in their Championship clash against Brighton at the AMEX Stadium.
