Fashion Sakala could exit Rangers as 'big-name' talks mooted - pundit
Frank McAvennie has claimed Fashion Sakala will be left out of the Rangers starting XI next season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Celtic striker said the 25-year-old hasn’t lived up to his “big-name” reputation at Ibrox.
On Saturday (30 July), Football Scotland reported that the Zambian international wants to talk to Giovanni van Bronckhorst about his future with the Scottish club.
The forward has been linked with moves away from Rangers this summer.
Sakala is said to want to stay at Ibrox.
When asked for his assessment of Sakala’s role and future at Ibrox, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I think he will be an impact substitute this season.

“Unfortunately, he came with a big name. People were saying he’s going to be the superstar, he’s going to light up Scottish football and it didn’t happen. We saw it against Celtic, the boy can play, but you’ve got to come up here and hit the ground running.
“It’s not an easy league, it’s so much quicker in Scotland than in England. You don’t get time on the ball and I think he had to adjust to that. I think he’s a good player but when you’re at Celtic or Rangers you have to hit the ground running.
“Obviously the manager doesn’t like what he sees that’s why he’s not got him as first choice. He’s going to have to work a bit harder, but that’s not anything new to football.
“He’ll be trying to sort something out with the manager and if he can’t then he’ll go somewhere else.“
