Celtic midfielder Liam Henderson is currently on trial with Italian Serie B club Bari, according to a reliable journalist.
Sky Sports Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on his personal website that the midfielder is currently on trial with the side who are currently in fourth place in Serie B, five points behind leaders Palermo and in the promotion play-off places.
Henderson is out of contract at the end of the season and has only featured once for Celtic this season, playing 23 minutes as a substitute against Dundee in October.
The 21-year-old has found it difficult to hold down a first-team place at the Bhoys, and has previously spent time on loan at Hibs and Rosenborg.
Football Insider verdict
A move away from Celtic Park is just what Henderson needs to kickstart his career. Since helping Hibs win the Scottish Cup in 2016 his first-team chances at the Bhoys have been limited since Brendan Rodgers took the job. He took part in 13 games last season but this year has fallen out of the first-team picture completely, as the likes of Olivier Ntcham and Eboue Kouassi have taken over. Henderson is a bit unfortunate to play in central midfield – a position which the Hoops have more than their fair share of players. If he goes to Italy well done to the player on showing the guts to move abroad, not enough British players do that these days.
