Ferguson blown away by one 'phenomenal' Rangers player who is playing out of his skin
Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has said that striker Alfredo Morelos is “playing out of his skin” at the moment.
Writing in his column in the Daily Record, Ferguson reveals he is looking forward to the Old Firm derby for the first time in a long time, and believes that Rangers can deliver a shock to Brendan Rodgers and his table-topping Celtic side.
He pulls out three Rangers men for praise, saying that Josh Windass, with ten goals in seven games, is “at the top of his game” and that there’s no better right back in the country than James Tavernier.
However, he singles out Morelos as the man who can damage Celtic next week.
“I looked at Alfredo Morelos on Tuesday night against St Johnstone and saw a guy who is playing out of his skin,” Ferguson wrote.
“He’s not just scoring goals – he looks fit, strong and his workrate is phenomenal.

“He is without question in the best condition he has been in since he arrived at the club last summer.”
Morelos has been one of the few highlights of the Pedro Caixinha reign, after he signed for just over £1million from HJK Helsinki.
The 21-year-old has adapted to the rigours of the Scottish league brilliantly, scoring 17 goals in 33 games.
His goals got him on the radar of Chinese Beijing Rehne, who reportedly put in a number of bids over the winter transfer window.
However, Rangers turned them all down and the striker will stay with them until at least the summer.
Rangers next match is against Falkirk on Sunday before the huge Old Firm derby the following weekend.
