Why did West Ham sign Patrice Evra in February?

He is without doubt the most pointless signing ever made by the London club, even though he was on a free transfer and is only contracted until the end of the season.

The former Manchester United and Juventus left-back has only made four appearances for West Ham since he was sacked by Marseille and snapped up by David Moyes, and it's a surprise that he has even played that many times with him clearly being way past his best.

It's also obvious that Evra is only at the London Stadium for the money and does not really care about whether or not the Hammers avoid relegation.

Reliable club insider ExWHUemployee has claimed to PhoenixFM that the Frenchman is earning £75,000-a-week at West Ham - a stupid amount of money to pay someone who is 36-years-old and has no long-term interest in the club.

With games against Leicester, Man United and Everton left to play, it's just best that Moyes doesn't bother playing him again after yet another stinker of a display in the defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Moyes needs every player pulling in the right direction to ensure that relegation doesn't become a possibility and it's obvious that Evra is not one of those.

Hopefully for West Ham fans, they won't have to see the five-times Premier League winner again.
