Celtic are being tipped to sign West Brom midfielder James Morrison in the summer transfer window with his Baggies deal on the verge of expiring, but Rangers must make sure they hijack any kind of move for the Scotland international.

There's little chance of the former Middlesbrough playmaker earning a new deal either as West Brom face relegation to the Championship and the Telegraph reports that he is earning £80,000-a-week in his deal.

Morrison is a big Rangers fan and it will be a shock to see him end up at Celtic.

In 2011, he told the Express that he would love to move to Ibrox before the end of his career.

“Rangers is just a team I’ve followed since I was a kid so it would be great to play there in the future,” he said.

That should but the Gers in pole position to sign Morrison if a race to get his signature was to open up over the summer months.

Celtic will have the spending power, the guarantee of silverware and even Champions League football.

But nothing beats playing for the team you love and support and Rangers could definitely pull off a coup to beat their bitter rivals to getting Morrison tied up.
