Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed £70million would be a fair price for West Ham to get for Declan Rice.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed there is "no chance" of anybody paying "£100million or £150million" for Rice.

The 23-year-old has just over 18 months left on his West Ham contract but the club have the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

Rice has already rejected a number of new contract offers including a £200,000-a-week deal that would have made him the highest-paid player in West Ham's history.

As quoted by BBC Sport earlier this year (1 April), David Moyes insisted Rice was worth £150million.

But the Telegraph's Matt Law told the London Is Blue podcast last week (28 November) that they were prepared to accept a £70million offer for Rice in the summer but no bid was forthcoming.

"I think that's about right," Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

"He hasn't pulled up any trees at the World Cup so far, he's been steady.

"There was talk of £100million or £150million, I think there's no chance of that. I think £70million is about the right price."

Rice has now played 215 times across all competitions for West Ham, chipping in with 23 goal contributions.

The England international is currently out in Qatar representing his country at the World Cup.
