Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle on a mega-money Bukayo Saka contract, sources have told Football Insider.

The attacking midfielder, 21, is set to multiple his salary many times after finalising a deal worth nearly £200,000-a-week.

It will catapult him into the bracket of top earners at Emirates Stadium, Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey.

It is believed Saka is now ready to sign a five-year contract, meaning the deal will be worth around £52million in total.

It will be a huge boost to Arsenal and their supporters if the homegrown star puts pen to paper.

Saka has developed into a bona fide Premier League star since signing his last extension - in July 2020 - which runs until the summer of 2024.

That has opened the possibility that a well-heeled rival could swoop in to prise the England international away from north London.

But the versatile attacker is now ready to commit to Arsenal after being convinced by their resurgence under Mikel Arteta.

Saka has emerged as the poster boy for a youthful and exciting team that tops the Premier League table after eight matches.

Arsenal

He has scored only one Premier League goal this season but has supplied four assists and his all-round play from a right-sided attacking role has been instrumental in the team's thrilling attacking performances.

Saka was outstanding last Saturday as Arsenal swept rivals Tottenham aside 3-1 to underline their title credentials.
