Celtic may up their asking price for Odsonne Edouard if Brighton make a concrete move for his signature this summer.

That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Premier League club's transfer plans.

As reported by Sky Sports (19th July), Brighton are set to receive a big financial boost after Arsenal agreed a £50million deal to sign England defender Ben White.

According to the Express (July 18th), the Seagulls want to spend some of that money on signing Odsonne Edouard.

Brighton are said to have already registered their interest in the French striker, who has less than 12 months remaining on his contract at Parkhead.

Edouard was nearing a move to Leicester City earlier in the window, but the Foxes instead opted to sign Patson Daka.

When asked by Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs if a move to Brighton would suit all parties, Robinson said:

"The money that comes in for Ben White I'm sure will be used wisely to strengthen the squad.

"We saw them dominate games last year without scoring goals. Edouard would be a solution to that problem. I think he'd be a great signing for them.

"They may have to pay a little bit more than they wanted to, than the market price per se but I don't think they will have to pay crazy money to get him. Brighton never pay huge transfer fees for players and clubs know that."
