Report: Contract to be offered to left winger, Monk wants to make ace Leeds first summer signing

Liverpool are preparing to offer a new contract to winger Ryan Kent to fend off interest from Leeds and Bournemouth, according to a report.
The Coventry Evening Telegraph claim the Merseysiders have been stung into action due to the desire of Leeds and Bournemouth to sign the 20-year-old.
It is said that Liverpool will offer Kent new terms in an attempt to tie him down to a long-term contract.
The left-winger, who is a product of the Liverpool academy and has made only one senior appearance to date for the club, has a contract that runs until the summer of 2019.
The Coventry Telegraph report that Leeds manager Garry Monk and his Bournemouth counterpart Eddie Howe are big admirers of Kent.
They will both attempt to make Kent one of their first summer signings if he cannot agree a new deal with Liverpool.
Kent has spent this season on loan with Championship side Barnsley and has been a mainstay of the team that have flirted with the play-offs.
The England Under-20 international had a loan spell at Coventry last season and made 17 appearances for the League One club.

Kent is not a star yet, but he could develop into one at Leeds under Monk's guidance. His chances of making it an Anfield appear slim - he has made just one senior appearance to date - and the likes of Ovie Ejaria, Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold are above him in the pecking order of emerging stars at the club. At Leeds, he could be an ideal fit. Monk, Pep Clotet and James Beattie have showed at Leeds and Swansea their skill in developing young players and drilling them to fit their style of play. It could be win-win for both parties.
