Contract signed: Stoke City defender agrees new 4-yr deal - Exclusive
Stoke City defender Harry Souttar has agreed the terms of a new four-year contract, Football Insider can reveal.
Souttar has enjoyed a breakout campaign this season and his contract was due to expire at the end of next season.
A source has told Football Insider the 22-year-old has already put pen to paper on extended terms and an announcement is expected soon.
The Australia international spent 18 months on loan at Fleetwood Town before returning to the Bet365 Stadium in the summer.
Souttar played over 50 times for Fleetwood and his dominant displays helped the club reach the League One play-offs.
He was given a chance at Stoke in the Carabao Cup second-round win over Wolves and has been a mainstay in Michael O'Neil's side since.
The Aberdeen-born star has played 26 times across all competitions for Stoke this season.
Souttar began his career at Dundee United before moving to the Potters in 2016 but had to wait until this season to make his league debut.
Stoke City kept the most clean sheets in England in 2020 and Souttar, alongside 19-year-old Nathan Collins, has played a key part in that.
The Potters currently sit in 10th in the Championship and are eyeing a return to the Premier League.
They are on a winless run of six games in the league but remain just four points off Bournemouth who occupy the final play-off spot.
