Everton defender Yerry Mina is interested in moving to Italy in potential part-exchange for Kalidou Koulibaly, Football Insider has learned.

The Colombia centre-back's future at Goodison Park is in some doubt as Carlo Ancelotti looks to recruit an elite centre-back this summer.

Football Insider revealed last month that Serie A big guns Napoli and Spanish outfit Valencia are keen on Mina, 26, ahead of the window.

In turn, the player is believed to be up for a move back to the Continent after three seasons in the Premier League and would be open to a top Spanish or Italian club.

That could provide leverage for Everton as they will need to offload some first-team stars to pave the way for another major recruitment drive.

This site broke the news on 22nd March that Ancelotti has made Koulibaly his number one target as he looks to recruit a "world-class" centre-back.

He turns 30 in June and this summer offers the last window for Napoli to secure a £50million-plus fee.

Mina has been a regular for Everton and started 21 of their 32 Premier League matches this season.

Ancelotti has made full use of all four of his senior central defenders, with Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate all playing in at least two-thirds of the team's matches.

Mina has had a mixed three years at Everton since signing from Barcelona for a fee of around £27m in 2018.

Ancelotti admires the Colombian's physicality but privately believes he is too erratic and error-prone for a top-tier side.
