Crystal Palace have opened preliminary talks with Liverpool over a £25million double deal for Nathaniel Clyne and Simon Mignolet, Football Insider can reveal.

The Londoners are keen to take advantage of right-back Clyne and goalkeeper Mignolet's fringe status at Anfield as they work on what would be a significant heist on Anfield.

A Palace source has told Football Insider that Palace have been in contact over a double swoop and early discussions have begun over the cost of transferring both players.

Liverpool value Clyne, 28, at around the £12million mark and want £10million for Mignolet, with Jurgen Klopp regarding both as expendable this summer.

An opening has emerged at the south Londoners as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is undergoing at Manchester United medical after agreeing the terms of a £50million-plus transfer.

Palace also want to sign an experienced goalkeeper proven in the Premier League this summer and believe Mignolet, 31, fits the bill.

He has been the second choice since the second half of 2017-18 and the excellence of last summer's signing Alisson means he would remain as back-up if he stays at Liverpool.

Mignolet has two years remaining on his contract with the Merseysiders, while Clyne is about to enter the final 12 months of his deal.
