Southampton striker Jonathan Afolabi has rejected a new deal at the club and is set to leave on a free transfer, Football Insider understands.

Afolabi is out of contract at Southampton this month and he is ready to move on after turning down a contract that would extend his stay on the south coast.

A source with knowledge of Alofabi's situation has told Football Insider that Afolabi has received offers from two unknown Premier League clubs as well as an offer from a Championship and League One club.

Celtic have also had an interest in Afolabi in the past, but it seems the player is likely to remain in England at a new club.

The 19-year-old, who joined Southampton from Irish side St. Josephs Boys in 2016, was highly regarded at St Mary's Stadium after impressing for the club's Under-18s and Under-23s sides.

The Republic of Ireland Under-19 international failed to break into the first-team at Southampton and he is now ready to move on and find a quicker pathway to regular first-team football.
