Fulham are in talks with Rodrigo Muniz over a brand-new contract after being linked with a move away this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Leeds United and Serie A giants Atalanta had been heavily linked with Muniz over the last few weeks, but a move has failed to materialise after the Cottagers rejected a £35million bid.

Despite the rumours surrounding the 24-year-old's future, Muniz made his Fulham stance clear during his celebrations against Brighton on Saturday, 16 August, lifting a club scarf after scoring a late equaliser.

The striker played the final 25 minutes against the Seagulls, replacing Raul Jimenez, and it is his lack of game time at Craven Cottage that fuelled rumours over a potential exit.

Rodrigo Muniz offered new Fulham deal in u-turn

Muniz is a much-loved figure at the club, having netted eight goals and an assist in the Premier League last term, despite only starting eight matches under Silva.

He also ended the 2024/25 campaign on a high, scoring against both Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham in the final five games of the season, seeing him attract attention from around Europe.

However, should he put pen to paper on a new deal, he could be given more time on the pitch to prove himself, given that he could secure his future with the Cottagers rather than search elsewhere.

Mick Brown told Football Insider earlier this month that Fulham are closing in on a deal for Reiss Nelson from Arsenal, but supporters have been disappointed by the club's transfer business so far.

Marco Silva to be concerned ahead of new season

Silva's only addition to the squad so far has been goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte, providing competition for Bernd Leno, a disappointment that has also sparked worries over the manager's future.

Football Insider revealed in May that Fulham's alarm bells were ringing over a potential Silva exit, having been strongly linked with replacing Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

Securing Muniz's future at Craven Cottage would certainly ease concerns, but with the Cottagers finishing no higher than 11th in the Premier League last season, the manager will be desperate for reinforcements.

The Cottagers' main concerns are clearly in the final third, scoring the same number of goals as 16th-place Wolves last term, but the board have done very little to make additions over the summer.
