West Ham are submitting a £15million bid for Swansea City star Joe Rodon as they look to finally end their hunt for a centre-back, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Hammers have hit a series of stumbling blocks in attempts to recruit a central defender in this window.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that West Ham are now ready to table an offer for Rodon after being give hope of a potential deal.

The Championship club may be forced to let go their academy product to raise much-needed cash.

Rodon has entered the final two years of his contract and is said to be keen to play in the Premier League.

He has played the full 90 minutes of all three of Swansea's league matches this season.

West Ham are in the market for a centre-back who can strengthen a defence that has looked wobbly in recent seasons.

Rodon broke into the Swansea side after their demotion from the Premier League in 2018.

The 6t 3in powerhouse has played 53 times for the club, 51 of which have come in the Championship, and is rated one of the best central defenders outside of the top flight.
