Fulham have joined West Ham and Sheffield United in the race to sign Nottingham Forest star Matty Cash, Football Insider understands.

The right-back, 23, has already been the subject of a £10million offer from Chris Wilder's side that was knocked back.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Fulham are in the market for a right-back this summer and are keeping tabs on Cash's situation.

The Cottagers secured Premier League promotion last week and that has given them a chance of enticing the Forest defender.

He has graduated from the academy ranks at the City Ground to make 141 appearances.

Nearly a third of those came in the recently-completed campaign in which Cash made 40 Championship starts.

But Forest's failure to reach the play-offs - they missed out to Swansea City only on goal difference - has consigned them to the second tier for another year.

The Championship big hitters will be keen for a bidding war between Premier League clubs for their home-grown star.

Forest are holding out for a fee of £15m for one of their prize assets.

Sheffield United are expected to table another offer, although West Ham have to offload some of their senior stars before they are in a position to submit a bid of their own.
