'He'll be worth £20m in two years' - Exclusive: Celtic staff raving about wonderkid
Celtic coaches are convinced the club have a rare gem on their hands in rising star Jeremie Frimpong, Football Insider understands.
The right-back, 18, has made a huge impact since being fast-tracked into the Hoops first team over the last six weeks.
A Celtic source has told Football Insider that Frimpong has made a big impression on staff at Lennoxtown with his "huge energy around the place".
He is regarded by the coaches as an uncut diamond, raw but possessing the kind of electric pace and ability on the ability that marks him out as special.
The source said there is a conviction among them that the youngster is so good "he'll be worth £20million in two years if he keeps his feet on the ground".
Frimpong has only made five appearances for Celtic since signing from Manchester City on a four-year deal at the start of September.
But he has started three of the last four Scottish Premiership matches and already looks to provide far more cutting edge than fellow right-back summer signings Hatem Abd Elhamed and Moritz Bauer.
A significant section of Bhoys have called for Frimpong to be the first choice ahead of the far more senior pair.
A right-back renowned for his supercharged pace and attacking prowess, he is very much in the Trent Alexander-Arnold mould of modern full-backs.
First, Frimpong must establish himself in Neil Lennon's side amid the competition for his place from Abd Elhamed, who signed for £1.5million this summer, and Stoke City loanee Bauer.
