Jordan Ibe has agreed the terms of a new five year Liverpool contract as he prepares to return to make his first-team comeback.

sources have learned that the 19-year-old has negotiated the terms of a deal that will keep him at Anfield until 2020 and he is set to sign within weeks. Ibe, who joined Liverpool from Wycombe when he was 16, made a huge impression at right wing-back in February after making his first-team bow. He damaged his knee ligaments against Besiktas on February 26 but that has done nothing to dampen the enthusiasm among the Anfield coaching staff about a player who is regarded as having huge potential. Manager Brendan Rodgers claimed on Saturday that the teenager had looked "absolutely sensational" since returning to training. Rodgers must now decide whether to recall Ibe to the starting line-up for Monday night's Premier League clash against Newcastle at Anfield. Manchester City's 4-2 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday has given Rodgers' team a glimmer of hope in the race for a top-four finish. City's second consecutive defeat means that Liverpool will narrow the gap on Manuel Pellegrini's side to four points if they beat Newcastle.
