Leeds have been installed as the favourites to sign Liverpool striker Danny Ings before next Thursday's deadline, according to a reliable journalist.

Sky Bet have priced the Yorkshire giants at 6/1 to sign the 25-year-old, who was signed by the Merseysiders for £8million in the summer of 2015.

Newcastle trail closely behind in the betting rankings at 9/1, while both Burnley and Scottish giants Celtic share odds of 12/1.

Leeds are the favourites to land Ings after offloading Chris Wood earlier this week to Burnley for an initial £15million.

Ings' two-year spell at Anfield has been ruined by two serious knee injuries and he has not appeared in the first team since a League Cup win over Tottenham last October.

Nevertheless, the England international has an impressive scoring record and was one of the most in-demand strikers in the country before quitting Burnley.

Ings is contracted to Liverpool until 2020 and it has been widely reported that he could be allowed to leave on loan in order to build up his fitness and play first-team football.
